1| Basil & Grapefruit Solution

As Wellness Mama says, most granite cleaners don’t cut it. Store-bought cleaners can “strip the protective sealant” off the granite, and vinegar and lemon juice are too acidic. Even soap and water can leave a nasty film on your gorgeous granite. Her solution (literally)?

  • ½ cup vodka (or rubbing alcohol)

  • 1 and ½ cups water

  • ½ tsp castile soap

  • 7 drops basil essential oil

  • 20 drops grapefruit essential oil

If you’re not a basil and grapefruit fan, Wellness Mama says you can use lavender, lemon, cinnamon, clove, or orange in any combination you prefer. Once you’ve picked your oil combo, put her solution in a 16-ounce spray bottle and clean away!

2| Simple & Sparkling Solution

One Good Thing by Jillee also steers granite owners away from damaging ingredients like vinegar, ammonia, bleach, lemon juice, lime juice, etc. Instead, try Jillee’s super-simple, easy-on-the-nose recipe and store it in a 16-ounce spray bottle.

  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

  • 3 drops dish soap

  • Water

For both of these natural, homemade granite countertop cleaner recipes, combine by swirling in the bottle, shake to mix it further, spray countertops, and then wipe away with a gentle, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.
